Nesting on this first Sunday in June.

Welcome to Nesting! If you are new here, it is a little round up I do with all of my favorite finds and things that have been happening on the blog. Grab a cup of coffee and come curl up!

I can’t believe we’re halfway through the year already!

The peonies started blooming  and we’re in full swing of the busy-ness that June brings with birthdays and end of the year events and parties. In addition to Father’s Day and my son graduating kindergarten, we’ve got two birthdays this month and one very special one as my sister is due this month! I’m waiting for that phone call any day now 🙂

Have you ever had a lavender latte? One of my friends shared over on Instagram that she has been loving lavender coffee. The boys and I went to a local coffee shop yesterday after Dude Man’s game and I ordered one. It was absolutely delicious!

It’s been a good few weeks on the blog!

On Tuesday the Cozy Creative Collaborative got together for May and this month’s theme was gardening.

I shared my recipe for my lemon zucchini bread.

Nesting on this cloudy Sunday in May.

Last weekend was one of celebrations between Mother’s Day and my dad’s retirement. We were able to snap this little family photo and it hit me like a ton of bricks how big the boys are growing and how fast it is going. Our oldest graduates from kindergarten this year and I was getting all sentimental. I came across one of those facebook posts, “you only get 18 summers” and thought “well shoot, I guess I only have 12 more”. But here’s the reality, as I got to thinking, I’ll be 36 this summer and I’ve never missed a summer with my parents.  In fact, you can find me over there by their pool almost every weekend. And not just summer, but every season. So my message to you is, don’t worry about the “18 summers” and trying to make them count.  Because if you’re lucky, you will get a lifetime.

Memorial Day is next weekend! Every year our little town has a big parade, races and fireworks, it’s a big shin dig! It’s one of my favorite weekends, almost like a kick off to summer even though not officially until June 21st.

How to Celebrate Earth Day

Nesting on this gorgeous Sunday in April

This week was beautiful! The warmer weather is finally here in Upstate New York!

We’re working this weekend on cleaning up the yard and gardens so we can get ready to sow our seeds and plant some new landscaping. Last summer I admittedly got a little overzealous and bit off more than I could chew if you know what I mean. So this year I’m keeping it simple with the gardens this summer and am focusing on plants that are more low maintenance.

We’ve also still got our bathroom reno going on. This is my inspiration. Rick’s certainly got his work cut out for him around the house lately 😉

Do your kids or grandkids love bubbles? Try my homemade DIY bubble solution and make a little bubble station! This has been one of my mom hacks for the past few years. I recommend using a pitcher with a spout so the kids can easily pour some into a smaller bowl or container.

3/26/23

Welcome to Nesting, where I share what’s been happening on the blog, and share some of my favorite things from the week! So grab a cup of coffee or whatever warm bevvy you prefer and curl up!

If I’m being honest, these last 2 weeks have been a blur.  I am grateful for a free weekend with some time to collect my thoughts and be inspired. Because Easter is 2 weeks away and I’ve got a few more cute ideas up my sleeve!

My sister and brother in law came home last weekend. It was so good to see them and my sister’s growing bump. We are in full baby shower planning mode and I can’t wait to show you the details!

I recently gave our bedroom a little spring refresh and it was just what my soul needed. Nothing feels as good as fresh, clean sheets am I right? I got these blue and white sheets from Target and I just love the palette for spring. I’m linking them here.

We also did a little updating in our living room. We desperately needed a new couch as ours had seen better days between a dog and 2 boys. We also added a few battery operated sconces (linking them here) and I am obsessed with how it transforms the room and I love the soft glow it adds in the early morning or evenings. They were easy to install too. Well Rick did it but it looked pretty easy 🙂
