Nesting on this last weekend in February.

Also, we went all of of February without a Nesting post so I guess this is the first and last of the month. It’s been pretty busy over here 🙂

But spring is just around the corner. Can you feel it? I am ready for all the green, flowers and to be outside and feel the sunshine on my face.

And speaking of spring, did you see that Diane Von Furstenberg has her own line at Target? The colors are amazing for spring and it will be live March 23! Click here to see the whole line.

Every Friday night, we do pizza picnic as a family and usually watch a movie and play a game together. This one was new to us and the kids (and us) thought it was hysterical.  Linking it here.

If you follow me over on Instagram, you may have seen that lately I have been perfecting my skincare routine. It took me over 30 years to get one (that doesn’t include St Ive’s apricot scrub) and my skin looks the best it ever has. I’ll be sharing more about what I use later this week but one thing that I have recently added and love, is microneedling at home. Do you microneedle?

Here’s more of what I shared recently:

My favorite finds of the week on the web

Have you heard of the term “Golden retriever boyfriend”? Think Travis Kelce or Jeremiah from The Summer I Turned Pretty with that adorable golden retriever energy. But what about the other breeds? This article came up on my Facebook feed and it describes the personality traits of other dog breeds and equates them to what they would be like as partners. You can read the whole list here.

But I got to wondering what breed Rick would be. He says German Shepherd – loyal, protects his family and hard working

You will have to tell me about your partner in the comments.

If you love personality tests like the Enneagram or Myers-Brigg, here’s a new one for you – Discover your Human Design. Find your type and learn more about yourself.

Do you like moscow mules? This mandarin mule from Midwest Life and Style looks so refreshing for spring doesn’t it?

And speaking of drinks, how cute are these ice cubes for Easter? Jessie Daye shows you how to make them here.

Welcome to the first Nesting of 2024!

If you are new here, it’s a little weekly recap of things that have been happening on the blog, my favorite finds on the Internet and more.

If I’m being honest, this past week has felt like a long, strange trip. It feels like it should be January 42nd doesn’t it?

The months of January and February are my least favorite. But I am using this time to “winterize” and enjoy reading, cooking and doing all the things that nourish my soul.

This week I finally started out on my last semester towards my BSN. This was a little venture I started 7 years ago before I had the kids and I am now excited to finally be finishing! I am here to tell you that you are never too old to go back to school or achieve those goals and dreams.

Here’s what’s been happening lately on the blog:

The Winter Reading Challenge is in full swing! Come see what it’s all about and how to join in here.

Christmas is 15 days away.

For once I am ahead of the game and have all my shopping done, minus some stocking stuffers. The rest of the Christmas cards are going out tomorrow.  This is like a record for me, usually I’m procrastination station.

Although, next week we go to breakfast with Santa. I’m sure there will be some surprise requests if you know what I mean.

It’s been a busy week on the blog.

Nesting Christmas tree decor with ribbons, bead garland and white poinsettias. Coffee in front of tree.

This post contains affiliate links

Nesting on this last Sunday in November.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and time with their family and friends.

We spent the past few days getting our Christmas shopping done and decorating for Christmas.

Do you do a themed tree or have a color scheme you like to stick to when decorating your tree? Or do you have a variety of sentimental ornaments you collect over the years?

This year I did a little upgrade when decorating our tree. Instead of using those hooks to hang your ornaments, I used ribbon. I chose a burgundy and navy blue color and tied ribbons on the ornaments to hang them instead. It looks so pretty and really elevates it a little bit.

Nesting - Christmas tree decor idea. Ornament hack. Use ribbon to hang ornaments on tree.

I’m showing you all the details here.

2023 Christmas tree with wooden bead garland, ribbons to tie ornaments with gold balls and white poinsettias.

Every year, when we decorate out front, I also do a little something to thank all the delivery drivers who work so hard to deliver our packages and groceries. I usually fill a little crate with some beverages and snacks for them to take when they drop off our packages and groceries. I made a cute little sign to add too.
