Nesting on this first Sunday in November. And Happy Daylight Savings!

I hope you all got an extra hour of sleep or maybe some peace and quiet to yourselves before everyone else in the house woke up.

Nesting will now go out on Sundays. With both boys in hockey on Saturdays, we have to be out of the house bright and early and it’s just too crazy to try and get my stuff together. Plus I think this is a great way to set up your Sunday and beat those Sunday scaries!

Who still has Halloween candy laying around? I thought I hid it all but then I saw the littlest dude man munching on candy in his room. He had taken a stash and hid it in his little backpack, little smartie pants. But if you are looking to use up some of that candy how about making these cookie bars with your leftover Halloween candy? Click here for my recipe.

Nesting on this last Saturday in October and Halloween weekend-

We have a weekend full of Halloween parties and Trunk or Treats. When did Trunk or Treats become such a big thing? I still love the idea of going door to door trick or treating and can’t wait to sneak some of the kids candy. The Reese’s are my fave!

But in all honesty, who will be putting up their tree next week once Halloween’s over?

You may have noticed something new on the blog – I’ve finally got Ads!!! Yayyy! This is another way for bloggers to monetize and often you have to have so many pageviews in order to qualify for ad space so thank you all!!!

It’s sweater weather and this sweatshirt was the top seller this week. I think I need one in EVERY color.

And lastly, I have to tell you about my latest morning beauty hack. I got it from someone on TikTok and I can’t remember who. But if you wake up in the morning and are feeling a little puffy, rub your face with an ice cube. Not only does it help with the swelling but will perk you up too! Then I follow with my moisturizer. You can use my code OURTINYNEST at checkout for a discount on all Tula products!

Here’s what happened on the blog this week:

I shared how to make these Pumpkin Bread Bowls for your soups and dips. Isn’t it so cute?

Nesting on this colorful Saturday in October.

It’s peak leaf season here, the colors are so vibrant. The most beautiful time of year, although short.

There was no nesting last weekend because we were away. We stayed overnight at a goat farm in a yurt. Remember when I went to the treehouse for my birthday? This time we stayed in the yurt and brought the boys. They had a blast jumping on the trampoline with the goats and they followed us on our morning hike. Truly a magical place. You can see a little about our trip here.

So if you finished Dahmer and are looking for something to curb your true crime hangover, you have to watch “A Friend of the Family” on Peacock. And because there won’t be any Nesting next weekend because we will be celebrating Dude Man’s birthday, here are few more to hold you over –

  • Conversations with a Serial Killer – The Dahmer Tapes (on Netflix now)
  • If you loved The Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor, there’s a new one that just came out by Mike Flanagan called “The Midnight Club” (on Netflix now)
  • “The Watcher” based on a true story of a house in NJ comes out October 13th on Netflix. (by Ryan Murphy, the same guy who created American Horror Story and Dahmer so you know it will be amazing).
  • A new Unsolved Mysteries comes out October 18th on Netflix

This week was an exciting week on the blog:

First, I am happy to announce that I will be co-hosting a weekly Wednesday link party. A link party is basically one big blog post filled with recipes, decor ideas and DIYs from other bloggers on the web. It’s an amazing source of ideas and inspiration. This is a great opportunity for creators and bloggers to come and link up your posts and gain exposure from a new audience. I will be choosing my favorite 4-5 posts from the week before and featuring each week. I hope you will come check out the party every week! Click here for this week’s 🙂

I made the most delicious apple pear fall sangria. And isn’t she beautiful? This is a great cocktail for Thanksgiving. I’ll link the recipe here so you can pin it or save it. The pitcher and some of these other decor pieces are part of a new subscription box I discovered. You can see more about it here.
