Are you ready for an easy fall DIY? Today I’m showing you how I upcycled these pumpkins using hot glue and paint to make a cozy fall tablescape. Scroll down to see how I made these DIY hot glue painted pumpkins. And for more pumpkin inspiration, check out my friend’s posts below because we’ve got a pumpkin roundup!
The first leaf fell off the tree outside and Rick made fun of me because I started transforming our home into all things fall. This past weekend, I lit my fall candles, made a bundt cake and switched up our dining room decor for a fall tablescape. I found these faux pumpkins I had from last year. I wanted a little more of a muted neutral palette so decided to give them an upgrade with glue and paint. Here’s what I did.
DIY hot glue painted pumpkins
You will need:
- faux pumpkins (linked here)
- hot glue (linked here)
- split wooden beads (linked here)
- acrylic paint
- paint brush
Using hot glue, I made a few little designs. I had some leftover split wooden beads from my DIY beaded wreath and added those as well. I let them dry completely before painting.
Then I painted them using acrylic paint. I did a total of 3 coats, making sure to get in all the nooks and crannies and allowing them to fully dry between each coat.
Look what a little glue and paint can do!!!
I put together this fall tablescape using some decor that I had laying around my house.
