How to easily create a patriotic front porch

Sharing some easy patriotic front porch ideas to spruce up your porch for Memorial Day, 4th of July or Labor Day!

Welcome to our front porch, summer edition! With the summer holidays approaching, I wanted to add a touch of red, white and blue to our front porch. But I didn’t want to spend a fortune. I’m showing you how to easily create a patriotic front porch using some things you may already have on hand and just adding a few little seasonal accents.

How to easily create a patriotic front porch

For the door

I already had a boxwood wreath on the door. So rather than get a whole new wreath, I just added some red, white and blue ribbon.

Door Mat

You are not going to believe that I actually got both of these mats from Aldi!

I love the look of layering mats so I’m linking some ones I found and love!

Faux Plants

I had bought these faux hydrangeas back in March for our planter boxes. The quality is so amazing, they even feel real! The blue color is so beautiful for summer!

To fill your planter boxes, I like to take paper shopping bags and crumple them up and then put them in the box to add some height. Then I put in these faux ferns and then added in my faux hydrangeas.

I got these car flags from The Dollar Store which work perfectly for the planter boxes.

I’m linking some of the things I used for my planter boxes below so you can recreate the look.

And in just a few minutes with a few touches, the porch was transformed into festive Americana that can be left out all summer long!

Spring Porch Refresh

Spring is here and I have been itching to start decorating! To me, I love a well decorated front porch, it gives such a great first impression. This time of year, I feel like the exterior of my home always needs a little pick me up after the cold winter. So I decided to do a little Spring Porch Refresh, adding some fresh greens and pops of color. I’m sharing the details of my spring porch decor below plus, I’ve teamed up with some other bloggers to give you some extra inspiration!

Here is my Spring Porch Refresh

I started with my welcome mat. I layered it with this blue striped mat to give it another element of color and make it pop against the blue.

I love this magnolia wreath for the spring and summer months.

I had been looking for a way to add some different dimensions and wanted a vertical sign for the porch. A local shop in my hometown called The Familiar Farmhouse made this welcome sign for me. I gave it a coat of poly so that it could stay outside and sustain the weather.

I am all about faux flowers for outside. I used to get fresh potted plants every year but let’s be honest – I’m good at keeping my kids and my patients alive. Flowers and plants on the other hand, not so much. I got these pots and faux greenery/fleurs from Afloral and honestly you could never tell the difference. I painted the pots this blue color, it’s called Crashing Waves by Behr.
