This is a romantic Valentine’s Simmer Pot that will fill your home with a spicy aroma and looks beautiful on the stove too!

I am obsessed with smells. And while I love burning candles and using my diffuser, simmer pots are one of my most favorite ways to make your home smell good and feel cozy and fresh too!

What is a simmer pot?

A simmer pot is basically a pot of water filled with herbs, spices, fruits or florals that you heat over the stove and makes like a natural potpourri for your home.

I’m sharing this romantic Valentine’s Simmer Pot and it’s a great way to use those leftover rose petals after love day <3

A few other things you could add to your simmer pot:

  • lavender
  • citrus slices
  • fresh rosemary
  • fresh cinnamon
  • all spice
  • vanilla bean or extract

My favorite winter combo:

  • fresh cranberries
  • orange slices
  • cinnamon sticks
  • cloves
  • rosemary

My favorite spring/summer/all year long refresh combo:

  • lemon slices
  • lavender
  • rosemary

You can use any pot but I think this glass one is just beautiful!

So give it a try and let me know what you think! And let me know if you have any other favorite combos to simmer!

An Easy DIY Winter Wreath

An easy DIY winter wreath

This is an easy DIY winter wreath to transition from holiday to winter decor.

This past weekend, we finally took down all of the Christmas decor.  I was ready for a fresh, clean slate for the new year, including a new wreath for the front door. I was inspired by the Anthropologie pom pom wreath with the fluffy and cozy vibes. If you haven’t seen the popular wreath, here’s a photo below.

FullSizeRender

While I was at the Dollar Store, I found a few items to re-create the look. Scroll down below to see how I made this easy DIY winter wreath and Anthropologie pom pom wreath dupe.

Supplies:

  • Wire wreath form (The one I used was a little challenging with the gaps to glue the fabric on so I think a foam or straw wreath form would work better).
  • Fuzzy mop heads
  • Hot glue gun
  • Ribbon

Directions:

1.) Start by gathering all your supplies and heating up your glue gun.

2.) Separate each individual mop head, depending on the size of your wreath form and the mop heads, will determine how many you use. I used 8.

3.) One your glue gun is hot, line some glue on the wreath frame where you plan to attach the mop head then stick the mop head directly on and hold for a few seconds. Now since there were open spaces, some of the glue did drip through the gaps so make sure you have some newspaper or something down on your table.

4.) Continue to glue the mop heads around the wreath form.

5.) Once finished, allow to dry then tie a large bow with some ribbon.

6.) Glue the bow onto the wreath.

Super easy, took 10 minutes and cost me about $10!

4.) Place in any other decorative items you want to use. I did some bells and a pinecone.

5.) I was using a gold charger as the tray and wanted it to match the lid to the jar. I squeezed a little rub n buff on the lid and rubbed it in using a paper towel then let dry.

6.) Screw the lid back on your jar.

7.) Again using your hot glue gun, draw a circle of glue on top of the lid then place the charger on top.

8.) Allow to dry then serve your treats.

Make this cute and easy DIY snowglobe ornament in under 5 minutes using some bottle brush trees and faux snow. These are the perfect touch to your Christmas tree no matter your theme or decor style! They add just the right touch of sparkle! Scroll down to see how I made these.

DIY Snowglobe Ornament

I love adding a few handmade ornaments to the tree in addition to some classic ball ornaments. This year I chose to do a winter white neutral theme and got the idea to add a few snowglobe ornaments. These were so easy to make and you could fill with just about anything. I used some leftover bottle brush trees but I think pine cones would be really pretty too!

You will need:
