13 Gift Wrapping Ideas

Are you ready for tons of gift wrapping inspiration? I’m teaming up with some of my favorite blogger friends to share 13 gift wrapping ideas for the holidays.

Now I am by no means a gift wrapping pro. I love me a giant gift bag as much as the next person, especially when I’m running late to a birthday party. And in our house, Santa usually wraps the boy’s gifts in some kind of dinosaur or character wrapping paper so we can distinguish who’s is who. But when it comes to giving gifts to family members or friends at Christmas time, it’s more special when you give a gift that shows you took the time to wrap.

Here are some tips and ideas to make your gifts look more creative and festive this holiday season!

1.) Kraft Paper Gift Wrapping Ideas – from yours truly, Our Tiny Nest

I love to use kraft paper, there’s so many options and ways you can decorate it, from stamping, or painting, or adding various toppers. I love how neutral it is.

I think my favorite way is to add some twine, dried citrus slices, and a sprig of greens to tie it all together. It makes it look a little more elevated.

Or if you love a more whimsical flair, you can draw a gingerbread or make a reindeer.

Scented salt dough ornaments also are another cute DIY topper idea. Click here to see how to make them!

4.) Place in any other decorative items you want to use. I did some bells and a pinecone.

5.) I was using a gold charger as the tray and wanted it to match the lid to the jar. I squeezed a little rub n buff on the lid and rubbed it in using a paper towel then let dry.

6.) Screw the lid back on your jar.

Make this cute and easy DIY snowglobe ornament in under 5 minutes using some bottle brush trees and faux snow. These are the perfect touch to your Christmas tree no matter your theme or decor style! They add just the right touch of sparkle! Scroll down to see how I made these.

DIY Snowglobe Ornament

I love adding a few handmade ornaments to the tree in addition to some classic ball ornaments. This year I chose to do a winter white neutral theme and got the idea to add a few snowglobe ornaments. These were so easy to make and you could fill with just about anything. I used some leftover bottle brush trees but I think pine cones would be really pretty too!

You will need:

DIY Simmer Pot Gift

DIY Simmer pot gift

There’s something so cozy about a beautiful simmer pot on the stove and the fragrant aromas. Especially in winter time. This DIY simmer pot is a great gift idea for the holidays and super easy to assemble!

And  for more Christmas ideas, scroll to the bottom to check out a 14 Days of Christmas blog hop!

What is a stovetop simmer pot?

A simmer pot is a basically a pot of water, fruits, herbs and spices that you simmer throughout the day to fill your home with a nice aroma. Simmer pots are really nice around the holidays with those warm spices but they can be enjoyed all year long. (This cozy coffee simmer pot is my other favorite combo).

DIY simmer pot gift

In the past I’ve done simmer pots in any old ordinary pot but recently I got this glass pot on Amazon. It’s soooo pretty and I thought it would make a great hostess gift.

What you need to make this DIY Simmer Pot:

  • Simmer Pot (linking it here)
  • 2 oranges
  • 1/2 bag of fresh cranberries
  • Dried cloves
  • 3 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • Ribbon or twine

How to make a DIY Simmer Pot Gift

Fill your pot with the oranges, cranberries and sprinkle in some cloves. With a ribbon or some twine, tie together the cinnamon sticks and rosemary and place in the pot. You don’t have to use this pot you can absolutely put together the ingredients and gather in a mason jar as well. Wrap and tie with a ribbon. If you want, you can also add a little tag with the instructions for simmering (listing the instructions below).

Instructions:

Fill a pot with about 3-4 cups of water. Add all ingredients to the pot and allow to simmer. Keep an eye on the water and add more as needed. You can reuse for a few days, just add more water. Enjoy!
