Happy Friday! Somehow it is October 1st! September flew by. Instead of my usual “5 Things I Bought Friday” I’m sharing with you all your Top Purchases of September. These were the most popular buys from the links I’ve shared throughout the month.
Your Top Purchases of September
Coffee pot – This is part of Drew Barrymore’s new line of kitchenware for Walmart. We have it in the white icing (it’s sold out) but there’s other gorgeous colors too! Makes up to 14 cups and touchscreen. If I had a white kitchen I honestly would have bought it in the sage.
Frother – My obsession with this is honestly embarassing. I froth EVERYTHING. (My favorite is my homemade pumpkin spice latte) Makes a huge difference!
Tula Lip Trio – 3 beautiful glossy shades that also hydrate your lips. Tastes great too! My favorite is the blushing lemonade. If it’s your first time placing a Tula order, use my code OURTINYNEST for 15% off!
Flannel Cardigan from Target -This was the TOP seller of September! Perfect for this time of year.
Sanderson Sisters Tee Shirt – Sissstaaassss!!!! How freaking cute for fall and you can layer it with the Target flannel cardigan above.
Bats – One of the most popular buys from 2020 and this year too! Head over to my instagram to see our dining room this year with the bats.
Googly Eyes – I have been adding these to everything I make because it makes it that much more fun to eat. We made the yogurt bark below with them too!!!! Click for recipe.

Random thoughts on a sunny September Saturday morning.
The kids finished their first week in their new classrooms. Somehow, this time next year I will have a kindegartener. I hope all of your kids and you parents are adjusting. I have loved seeing everyone’s back to school photos. It is my absolute favorite. It’s crazy how fast these kids grow.
This week I shared a new recipe for my Pumpkin Spice Snack Mix. It’s a great after school snack or if you’re just craving something sweet and salty.
Another great back to school snack or healthy dessert idea are my Banana Split Apple Nachos.
Speaking of apples, I think we’re going to go apple picking this weekend. It’s my absolute favorite thing to do in fall.
If you’re looking for a good chill playlist, ask Alexa to play “Acoustic Covers”. You’re welcome 🙂
Tula just launched their lip care trio and it’s soooo good! Three different shades to give you a hint of color while hydrating and smoothing your lips. This weekend through Monday 9/13, you can get free shipping + 15% off when you use my code OURTINYNEST on your orders.
I published a new segment of “5 Things I Bought Friday” yesterday. If you missed it click here.
This weekend is 1 year that we whitewashed our exterior brick and it is still one of my favorite projects to date!
Here’s the before –
And the after –
Rick used Sherwin Williams white exterior paint and mixed 1 part paint with 2 parts water to give it the whitewashed look. It’s held up well! This spring we’re looking forward to re-doing our driveway and front porch.
I hope you all have a beautiful weekend!

Nesting – Random thoughts on a muggy Saturday morning.
1.) This week was a doozy. I’m looking forward to losing myself in some of my projects and new recipes this weekend.
2.) Have you gone to a sunflower field yet this summer? If you are local, be sure to check out my post from earlier this week on where you can see sunflowers. This is peak weekend!
3.) I finished White Lotus, the ending was just omg!!! I also started Nine Perfect Strangers on Hulu. It’s a little slow to start but gives me those Big Little Lies vibes and the latest episode leaves you on a little cliffhanger. I also started the second season of Modern Love and I’m not feeling it if I’m being honest.
4.) Remember my apple cinnamon french toast casserole? I teamed up with some other friends for apple inspired recipes and decor in time for apple season. See the post here!
5.) Did you see this week’s “5 things I bought Friday”? Click to see my finds.
Check out some of my favorite finds on the internet this week:
Barstool Sports what’s recently at DeFazio’s Pizza in Troy. Check out his review.
Have some fun with this quiz. Make a charcuterie board and find out which Kardashian you’re most like. I got Kris and I was secretly hoping for Kourtney. Who did you get?
How cute is this DIY cauldron from At Home With Jenna? She is one of my favorite follows.

Quarantine life day 1,354. That’s what it feels like anyway. And while my husband and I are both deemed essential and have to go to work, we’re still feeling the slump from not being able to go anywhere or see family or friends. There are some things that you can do to keep yourself feeling upbeat. I’m sharing with you some ways to keep yourself from slipping into a funk while social distancing.
1.) Get dressed every morning – Getting dressed, doing my hair and throwing on a little makeup makes me feel human and like a contributing member of society. This is something I learned back when I was home on maternity leave. You don’t have to get all fancy. Some days I put on jeans but most of the time it’s comfy athleisure. I love the new Reebok all-inclusive sizing line at Kohl’s. They carry sizes from XS-4XL. The line is perfect for whether you’re lounging at home, chasing the kids or getting in a workout.
2.) Do something active – Exercising is a great way to boost one’s mood and also burn off all of those yummy treats and drinks that we’ve been consuming while home quarantined. Daily walks, bike rides and going for hikes has been a way for our whole family to exercise together and burn off some steam.
3.) Get outside – If there’s a silver lining it’s that this pandemic has come at time where it’s starting to get nice out. This is a great time to get outside and do some spring yard work or spring cleaning. Since we moved into our house a few years ago I’ve been wanting to start a garden and this was the perfect opportunity.
4.) Connect virtually with family/friends – Thankfully we live in a technological savvy world and there’s several apps that make it easier to connect with loved ones. Set up a virtual Happy Hour or play games with family and friends from afar with the Cards Against Humanity Lab.
What are some ways you’re getting through this time at home?
