Basket with wine bottle, wine chiller, wine tote, best teacher ever book and an apple with tag that says "apples are fine but by June you deserve some wine"

Teachers will love what’s inside basket!  This end of the year teacher gift idea is easy to put together and comes with a free printable too! Because by the end of the year, teachers deserve all the wine.

I can’t believe it’s already almost the end of the school year.  Our teachers deserve to be spoiled for all the extra hard work they put in. Honestly, our oldest graduates kindergarten this year and his teacher has been fantastic! We could not have asked for a better experience. So I wanted to put something special together for her to celebrate the end of a great year and kick off summer.  This end of the year teacher gift idea is the perfect way to show your appreciation for all they do. After all “apples for the teacher used to be just fine, but by June, they deserve some wine!”

To make this you will need:

  • a basket
  • print out of my free printable, which I have linked below.
  • cardstock or paper
  • scissors
  • wine
  • ribbon
  • hole punch
  • filler for your basket
  • basket items (I’m sharing some ideas below)

Free printable tag

Here is the printable tag. Click here to download and print out your own tags!

Tag with an apple that says "Best teacher ever" and "apples for the teacher used to be just fine but by June you deserve some wine"

Once you have printed out your tag, you will need to cut it out.

cut out gift tag with an apple that says "Apples for the teacher used to be just fine but by June you deserve some wine"

Then using a hole puncher, I punched a hole in the corner of the tag and slipped some twine through with a ribbon, tying the ribbon around the neck of the wine bottle.

Next it’s time to fill your basket.

What to include in your End of the Year Gift Basket Idea for the Teacher

The beauty of this gift basket is that it can be completely customized! You can do a fun summer themed basket, coffee, chocolate, honestly, whatever your teacher likes!  (But honestly, what teacher doesn’t love wine?)

Here are some ideas of what to include in your basket:

You will want to add some filler to your basket. You can use whatever you like but here are some that I like to use:

Then you will want to add your items to the baskets in an aesthetically pleasing way. I like to add the taller items in the back. Complete with some ribbon for a special touch.

And just like that you have the perfect end of the year teacher gift!

13 Gift Wrapping Ideas

13 Gift Wrapping Ideas

This post contains affiliate links

Are you ready for tons of gift wrapping inspiration? I’m teaming up with some of my favorite blogger friends to share 13 gift wrapping ideas for the holidays.

Now I am by no means a gift wrapping pro. I love me a giant gift bag as much as the next person, especially when I’m running late to a birthday party. And in our house, Santa usually wraps the boy’s gifts in some kind of dinosaur or character wrapping paper so we can distinguish who’s is who. But when it comes to giving gifts to family members or friends at Christmas time, it’s more special when you give a gift that shows you took the time to wrap.

Here are some tips and ideas to make your gifts look more creative and festive this holiday season!

1.) Kraft Paper Gift Wrapping Ideas – from yours truly, Our Tiny Nest

I love to use kraft paper, there’s so many options and ways you can decorate it, from stamping, or painting, or adding various toppers. I love how neutral it is.

I think my favorite way is to add some twine, dried citrus slices, and a sprig of greens to tie it all together. It makes it look a little more elevated.

Or if you love a more whimsical flair, you can draw a gingerbread or make a reindeer.

Scented salt dough ornaments also are another cute DIY topper idea. Click here to see how to make them!

DIY Simmer pot gift

There’s something so cozy about a beautiful simmer pot on the stove and the fragrant aromas. Especially in winter time. This DIY simmer pot is a great gift idea for the holidays and super easy to assemble!

And  for more Christmas ideas, scroll to the bottom to check out a 14 Days of Christmas blog hop!

What is a stovetop simmer pot?

A simmer pot is a basically a pot of water, fruits, herbs and spices that you simmer throughout the day to fill your home with a nice aroma. Simmer pots are really nice around the holidays with those warm spices but they can be enjoyed all year long.

DIY simmer pot gift

In the past I’ve done simmer pots in any old ordinary pot but recently I got this glass pot on Amazon. It’s soooo pretty and I thought it would make a great hostess gift.

What you need to make this DIY Simmer Pot:

  • Simmer Pot (linking it here)
  • 2 oranges
  • 1/2 bag of fresh cranberries
  • Dried cloves
  • 3 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • Ribbon or twine

How to make a DIY Simmer Pot Gift

Fill your pot with the oranges, cranberries and sprinkle in some cloves. With a ribbon or some twine, tie together the cinnamon sticks and rosemary and place in the pot. You don’t have to use this pot you can absolutely put together the ingredients and gather in a mason jar as well. Wrap and tie with a ribbon. If you want, you can also add a little tag with the instructions for simmering (listing the instructions below).
