It was a cold and snowy day yesterday and I was craving something cozy that felt like a hug. Earlier this week, I saw online a coffee house was serving earl grey hot chocolate and it sounded so delicious and I could not stop thinking about it. So I decided to try and make my own, how hard could it be?
I used dark chocolate with sea salt and the result was a rich, floraly, decadent sip that just feels so fancy and elevated. Sharing my recipe below.
And if you really want to romanticize your hot chocolate, check out these hot cocoa toppers.

Earl Grey Hot Chocolate
Ingredients
- 2 cups of milk of choice
- 2 bags of earl grey tea
- 2 squares of Lindt dark chocolate with sea salt, chopped fine
- 1 Tbsp of cocoa powder
- 1.2 tsp vanilla extract
- dash of maple syrup
- sprinkle of sea salt

Directions:
1.) Add the milk to a medium sized pot and bring to warm.
2.) Once warm, add the tea bags and allow to steep for about 10 minutes. Squeeze all the liquid out of the tea bags before removing from the pot.
3.) Stir in the chopped chocolate until smooth.
4.) Mix in the cocoa powder.
5.) Add the maple syrup and sea salt and stir together.
6.) Pour the hot chocolate into a mug
7.) Top with whipped cream and chopped chocolate if desired 🙂
Enjoy!!!
