Random thoughts on this first Sunday of October.

1.) Why do people make a big deal of leaf cleanup if the leaves are just going to decompose and turn into soil anyway?

2.) I need to eat a vegetable today. This weekend has been full of celebrations with all the drinks and decadent foods.

3.) Is Taylor going to take a break after the release of The Life of a Showgirl? After listening to her new album, I think mother is ready for her wife and mother era don’t you? And also, I can’t help thinking that this album is far from the deep, gutting poetry we are used to from Taylor.  It feels like Travis wrote these lyrics with a crayon. But our girl is happy and I love that for her.

These pumpkin chai pop tarts. Can you remember the last time you had a pop tart? In the spirit of fall and earlier this week in preparation of The Life of a Showgirl, I channeled my inner Taylor and made some homemade pop tarts. These are filled with a delicious pumpkin filling and topped with a chai glaze. They are so incredible! Sharing my recipe.

The First Witch of Boston by Andrea Catalano – I finished this book in 2 days.  It is a great pick for the start of fall. This historical fiction read tells the story of women and witches during the puritan era in Massachusetts.

Monster: The Ed Gein Story on Netflix – Ryan Murphy is back with his Monster anthology series and this one tells the story of serial killer and grave robber Ed Gein I had never heard of Gein before but this series is disturbing, dark and I can’t stop watching.
