This Christmas cookie recipe combines those beloved Little Debbie Christmas tree cakes and an easy white cookie recipe with M&M’s.

Tis the season for all the Christmas baking. And this will be your new favorite Christmas cookie! This recipe uses cake mix for an easy cookie dough and is filled with M&M’s, and topped with the Little Debbie Christmas tree cakes. (And if you can’t get enough of those Little Debbie tree cakes, you have to try this dip!)

Whether you’re baking for a cookie swap, your Christmas cookie platter or just to enjoy while watching your favorite Christmas movie, these are sure to become your favorite.

Christmas tree cake cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup red and green M&M’s
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • sprinkles
  • 3 Little Debbie Christmas tree cakes, cut into pieces

Directions:

1.) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

2.) In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, oil, almond extract and M&M’s, mixing until combined.

3.) Use an ice cream scooper to form into balls.

4.) Roll the cookie dough balls into a dish of sprinkles then place onto a baking sheet.

5.) Allow to bake for about 8-10 minutes.

6.) Remove the cookies from the oven and use the back of a spoon to make little indentations into the cookie.

7.) Place a piece of the Christmas tree cake on top of each cookie.

These also freeze really well so you can make ahead of time! I line some parchment paper in an airtight storage container and freeze until the day of.
