Nesting on this first Sunday in August

Guys how is it August already?

We leave in 1 week for the beach and then once we are back it will be time to start getting ready for back to school. Summer has gone by so fast.

Once August comes, I’m stuck in the limbo of being excited for fall and cooler weather while also wanting to savor the last summer days. Does anyone else feel this way?

Have you guys been watching the Olympics? I am loving watching all of those videos of Snoop Dogg, cheering on Team USA. He’s the mascot we never knew we needed.

It’s been busy on the blog.

Here’s what we’ve been talking about lately:

How to live a Nancy Meyers summer.

This chocolate espresso zucchini bread is absolutely uh-mazing!!!

The peaches have been absolutely incredible this season and this peach panzanella salad is so refreshing!  One reader Brittany says:

5 stars The is the BEST salad I have ever had! Thank you for sharing!

What I’ve been watching and reading:

I just started watching Presumed Innocent on Apple TV after my girlfriends were all talking about it. It’s soooo good if you haven’t seen it!

And if you love true crime stuff, another season of Unsolved Mysteries came out on Netflix this week.

I’m currently reading The Block Party on my Kindle.  The affluent neighborhood of Alton Road is getting together for their annual block party when there is a murder. As we read the story, we find that everyone has their secrets. This one is great for fans of Desperate Housewives.

I just got this because I don’t know about your kids, but my boy’s bathroom is gross and this just makes me feel a little better.

This was your best seller of the week so naturally I had to get it.

My favorite things I found this week on the internet:

The viral chocolate muffins from the Olympics, omg have you seen them? I found the recipe!

That salad looks amazing!! We are back at school here and I am loving being back to a routine. Now for some cooling off in the weather department (maybe it will start in a month) so that I can encourage them to spend more time outside after school.

I thought the Block Party was a lot of fun. I too find that August has me both sad and trying to cling to summer as well as looking forward to fall and planning for some hikes and fun.

Yes, I have too many tomatoes right now to consume, but not enough to can, so I’m checking out that tomato tart recipe! Visiting from Thinking Out Loud Thursday.
