Nesting on this weekend in mid April.

If you are new here, Nesting is a little round up I do with what’s been happening lately in life, on the blog and some of my favorite finds. Today we’re talking Taylor and TTPD, cookie decorating, Mother’s Day and Amazon finds and more.

What’s been happening:

I’ve been in a fog listening to Taylor’s album over and over again and trying to figure out who all the songs are about and decode everything. Who else is like this? And what’s your favorite song on the album?

Yesterday my sisters and I took my mom to a cookie decorating class.  If you are local to the Capital District, it’s called Capital Cooks and they have a variety of different classes you can take. It was a lot of fun!

Dirty Little Secrets by Jo Spain – the reviews say that fans of Desperate Housewives will love this one.

“In the exclusive gated community of Withered Vale, people’s lives appear as perfect as their beautifully manicured lawns. Money, success, privilege – the residents have it all. Life is good. There’s just one problem.

Olive Collins’ dead body has been rotting inside number four for the last three months. Her neighbours say they’re shocked at the discovery but nobody thought to check on her when she vanished from sight.

The police start to ask questions and the seemingly flawless façade begins to crack. Because, when it comes to Olive’s neighbours, it seems each of them has something to hide, something to lose and everything to gain from her death.”

The Villa by Rachel Hawkins – This is another thriller but with vacation vibes.

“As kids, Emily and Chess were inseparable. But by their 30s, their bond has been strained by the demands of their adult lives. So when Chess suggests a girls trip to Italy, Emily jumps at the chance to reconnect with her best friend.

Villa Aestas in Orvieto is a high-end holiday home now, but in 1974, it was known as Villa Rosato, and rented for the summer by a notorious rock star, Noel Gordon. In an attempt to reignite his creative spark, Noel invites up-and-coming musician, Pierce Sheldon to join him, as well as Pierce’s girlfriend, Mari, and her stepsister, Lara. But he also sets in motion a chain of events that leads to Mari writing one of the greatest horror novels of all time, Lara composing a platinum album––and ends in Pierce’s brutal murder.

As Emily digs into the villa’s complicated history, she begins to think there might be more to the story of that fateful summer in 1974. That perhaps Pierce’s murder wasn’t just a tale of sex, drugs, and rock & roll gone wrong, but that something more sinister might have occurred––and that there might be clues hidden in the now-iconic works that Mari and Lara left behind.

Yet the closer that Emily gets to the truth, the more tension she feels developing between her and Chess. As secrets from the past come to light, equally dangerous betrayals from the present also emerge––and it begins to look like the villa will claim another victim before the summer ends.”
