Welcome to the first Nesting of 2024!
If you are new here, it’s a little weekly recap of things that have been happening on the blog, my favorite finds on the Internet and more.
If I’m being honest, this past week has felt like a long, strange trip. It feels like it should be January 42nd doesn’t it?
The months of January and February are my least favorite. But I am using this time to “winterize” and enjoy reading, cooking and doing all the things that nourish my soul.
This week I finally started out on my last semester towards my BSN. This was a little venture I started 7 years ago before I had the kids and I am now excited to finally be finishing! I am here to tell you that you are never too old to go back to school or achieve those goals and dreams.
Here’s what’s been happening lately on the blog:
The Winter Reading Challenge is in full swing! Come see what it’s all about and how to join in here.
These baked dill pickle ranch chips are the perfect snack for Super Bowl Sunday or watching the Bills vs Chiefs today. Go Taylor! I mean Chiefs! Click here for my recipe.

This recipe is a family favorite in our house and will be in yours too! Here’s my CBZ, my chicken broccoli ziti! It’s the perfect winter comfort meal. Click here for my recipe.
If you are looking for a non-candy Valentine’s Day idea for school or friends, this one has been popular the past few years. Here is my free printable and DIY.
Amazon Stuff
I shared these Valentine’s Day Finds all from Amazon, to celebrate love day and Galentine’s! Click here to see them all.
These were a top seller this past week.
I also just bought this top and I can’t wait to try it on!

What I’ve been watching, reading and eating.
Currently watching
25 years later and I’ve been binging the Sopranos. It’s sooo good. Have you seen it?

I know there’s alot of true crime fans here. And you need to watch American Nightmare on Netflix. It is so bizarre and will have you guessing the whole time.
I also just started Murder in Boston which is another true crime story on HBO.
I also can’t wait for Feud: Capote vs The Swans which comes out January 31st! The trailer looks so good.
Currently Reading
Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros – this is totally different from what I typically read but it is so so good! I am halfway done!
Eating/Drinking
I found this popcorn at Fresh Market and I can not stop eating it.
My cozy coffee is the perfect way to start your winter mornings. Sharing my recipe here.
Some of my favorite finds on the Internet this week
These are the cutest printable Valentine’s cards for Swifties.
I want every single one of these reading nooks in my home.
This winter wonderland tablescape from my friend Michele is so adorable. It makes me want to host a winter dinner party.

My sister sent me this on Instagram and they are all adorable. Which one is your favorite? They all look so cozy.
My friend Melinda shared her recipe for these homemade cinnamon toast crunch bagels and I have not been able to stop thinking about them.
Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!
Stay tuned for this week where I’m sharing my homemade tomato soup and grilled cheese, and a red velvet recipe for Valentine’s Day!

January 21, 2024 at 10:09 amNicolle,
Good for you working toward your BSN…Something I chose not to do but now it is imperative that you do as at least here in NEPA, the pay is higher…I worked in direct patient care for 41 years and am now happily retired for 4 years, taking early retirement at 62…Best thing I ever did…I worked night shift in an acute Rehab department for 37 years…until they shut it down in 2019, which prompted me to finally have a knee replacement after 6 years of putting it off…I am not into True Crime but love a good serial Killer story!! LOL! I enjoyed this post…I think I have been nesting since I stopped working!! LOL! Stay warm!
Hugs,

January 21, 2024 at 10:20 amWe loved the Sopranos– that and Ray Donovan were shows that we discovered much, much later than it seemed like everyone else had but I was glad we waited and were able to binge watch them both.

January 22, 2024 at 4:29 pmI have never watched The Sopranos, always meant to but then got caught up watching some other series. I love the idea of ‘winterising’ – I have spent most of January reading and family time whilst the month drags on 🙂 x
