Announcing the new Winter Reading Challenge for 2023. For those of you who were here for the Summer Reading Challenge, it was a hit! And winter is the perfect time to curl up with a good book. So this will be a great way to spend the colder winter months. This is a laid back challenge to inspire you to read more! My goal is for it to be fun and to give you more ideas on books to read.
Now just like with the previous summer challenge, we will be playing on Instagram!
The challenge will be live from Tuesday December 27th 2022-Sunday March 19th 2023.
How to participate in the winter reading challenge:
1.) Download the graphic below or save to your phone or camera roll.
2.) The idea is to read books in each category to try and get a BINGO or bonus points if you do a cover all and fill in all the boxes! Each time you read a book that checks off one of the boxes, share to your Instagram stories and tag me @ourtiny_nest.
3.) The challenge will end March 19th 2023. Be sure to share your finished template to your Instagram story with each box ticked off and tag me @ourtiny_nest to get credit! You must be following me @ourtiny_nest.
I haven’t decided on the prize yet, I think last time we did an Amazon gift card, to be decided 🙂
Be sure to share with any of your friends you think would want to read along.
Scroll down to see some of my book suggestions.
Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Finney Boylan
This was the most highly anticipated and recommended book to be read by you all! In true Jodi Picoult fashion, it has you question your beliefs, and just when you think it’s going to be a sweet story, comes a twist!
Three Sweedish Mountain Men by Lily Gold
If you’re looking for a winter themed romance, this is it! The main female character is holed up in a cabin with three ripped hunky mountain men. Yes please 🙂
Set to release January 10th, this is Prince Harry’s autobiography. If you’re obsessed with all things royalty, the monarchy or just love Prince Harry this sounds like will be a really interesting account from his perspective.
The Overnight Guest by Heather Gudenkauf
A true crime writer heads to a cabin in winter to write her new novel. The place where she is staying was the scene of a murder years before and a girl who went missing. This is the perfect winter thriller.
From Scratch: A memoir of love, Sicily and finding home by Tembi Locke
This book was the basis for the Netflix movie “From Scratch”. (So checks off the box made into a movie). Seriously so many of my friends have been telling me to watch the movie but I want to read the book first.

January 1, 2023 at 1:35 pmWhat a fun challenge! I really enjoyed Mad Honey a lot and the other books you suggested all look great too. I haven’t read a Heather Gudenkauf book in years.

January 2, 2023 at 8:12 amI am always looking for new book suggestions!
The “book made into a movie” topic always seems to generate a lot of conversation. It’s funny to me how I will read a book and have a character so solidly in my mind… and then see them on screen, and they are strangers! (“Edward” from the Twilight series is a great example… in my mind, he was a dark and broody Matt Czuchry, not Robert Pattinson!!)
Mad Honey must be a super popular pick for this year. Wait time on the Libby app is now 13 weeks!
