Coming to you another Saturday morning from the ice rink –
That’s right. We were up at 6am shuffling the kids to hockey practice. They love it though. And I enjoy sitting here with my coffee wrapped up in a blanket watching them. I used to figure skate when I was younger and have so many memories of being at the ice rink on the weekends and then going home and warming up with some hot chocolate.

12 days until Thanksgiving and 41 until Christmas but who’s counting? Have you guys put up your tree yet? Last year our tree went up the day after Halloween. This year, I haven’t been as motivated. I’m trying to savor every moment rather than rush it. I think it’s easy this time of year to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, I’m guilty of it too. I’m trying to be more mindful and focus more on enjoying every experience and memory with the kids. They love this time of year and it’s so magical now as a parent.

This week I also rolled out this year’s Community Giving Project. It was something that I started last year as a way to give back to one of the families in this online community. Honestly, I think sometimes social media can get a bad rap and this is a positive way that everyone can come together and do some good. This year I went through the nominations and chose a family whom I know personally and is local to the Albany area. You can read more about their story and if you feel called to contribute I know they would be forever grateful.
