This morning I was looking for a fun sensory activity that would occupy both a baby and a toddler. Let me first of all preface this by saying that not every day of quarantine has been like this morning. Some days we get crafty and have little projects but mostly I’ve been perfectly ok with the kids having screen time. (Hey whatever works right?) This morning though I was feeling all “pinteresty” and we made homemade edible playdough.
I’m sharing my recipe below on how to make homemade edible playdough using ingredients we already had on hand.
How to make homemade edible playdough
Ingredients
- 1 cup of canned frosting
- 2 3/4 cups of confectioners sugar
- Sprinkles (optional)
Directions
- In a mixing bowl mix together the frosting and confectioners sugar until dough becomes crumbly and slightly lumpy. (This is how the dough will look)
- Add in sprinkles if you want to make it a little more colorful
- Roll into balls and play!
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few days.

April 1, 2020 at 1:04 pmThis is a great one for parents during all of this time at home – Not only would it be fun to make/play with, but it’s something you can let the kids play with while you’re working from home and trying to get work done without worrying about them eating something unsafe lol
