The first of my holiday gift guides is up and this one is all about the Enneagram. If you aren’t familiar with the Enneagram, it’s basically a model that describes the 9 different personality types of humankind.  According to the Enneagram, each type views the world a little differently. Knowing which type you are can help you better identify your inner desires, what motivates you, your fears, strengths/weaknesses, etc. (If you’re not sure what type you are, you can take the free quiz here. ) I’m a Type 9 and it couldn’t be more accurate – I hate conflict and crave all the cozy things!

Type 1 The Reformer –

Reformers are very rational. They have a strong sense of right and wrong, they love order, are always working towards self-improvement and they tend to be perfectionists. Gifts to help them meet their goals and keep things clean and organized are right up their alley.

Type 2 The Helper-

Two’s gravitate towards meeting the needs of others.  They care so much for others that sometimes they forget their own needs. They love their people deeply and just want to be loved in return. Gift ideas for 2s would be something geared towards entertaining, helping them pamper themselves or towards a company that gives back.

Type 3 The Achiever –

If you know a Type 3, they are very ambitious, and crave success. They are driven to have the right job, right house, right car, etc which can sometimes be exhausting.

Type 4 The Individualist –

Creative, authentic, sensitive and nostalgic are some of the words used to describe Type 4’s. Perfect gift ideas are something that allows them to express their creative side, something handmade or with a sentimental value.

Type 5 The Investigator –

Introverted with a love to learn and explore. Books, a class or anything that gives them the opportunity to learn something new would be a nice gift for a 5.

Type 6 – The Loyalist

Need to feel safe and secure. They tend to be anxious and suspicious. They also love to be in the closeness of good friends and family.

Mindfulness journal – practicing mindfulness and gratitude can help 6’s focus on the present and be a good daily exercise.

Type 7 – The Enthusiast

Playful, fun-loving, and spontaneous. They tend to be a bit scattered. 7’s love anything fun or new experiences.

Natural leader, self confident, determined, committed. They can be somewhat confrontational when they are passionate about something.

Type 9 – The Peacemaker
