Happy 2018! I don’t know about you all but I am thankful for a fresh start! This year I’ve decided to ditch those resolutions and instead focus on a word or theme for the year.
For me, 2017 was a year of becoming mom – a whirlwind of diapers, laundry, dealing with mom guilt and postpartum anxiety, learning how to balance motherhood with my career and relationships. I learned alot my first year of motherhood (you can read about those lessons here), but one of the most important things I learned was to SLOW DOWN.
So for 2018, this year my word/theme is intentional – being purposeful and living by one’s values and beliefs.
So here are my 2018 intentions:
1.) Spend more time on loved ones and experiences. – Focusing more on having meaningful and intentional interactions with my loved ones and making memorable experiences.
2.) Do one thing for myself each day and practice self care. – Whether it be a a walk to feel the sunshine on my face or curling up with a blanket and enjoying a cup of coffee, I’m going to allow myself 30 minutes each day for self-reflection and me time.
3.) Nourish and be kind to my mind and body -Being mindful of things I put into my body, being forgiving to myself, knowing my worth and allowing my mind time to rest.
4.) Focus on the positive – and let go of anything negative or that brings me down.
What is your word/theme or some of your intentions for 2018?
Wishing you all a happy, healthy, intentional year!
