Nesting and my random thoughts on this first cold December Saturday.
Scroll down for this week’s Nesting.
I can’t believe we’re already in December and Christmas will be here soon! I ordered my Christmas cards the other day for same day pickup. I got all excited thinking I was ahead of the game this year and then realized they didn’t come with envelopes lol. So if you’re on my Christmas card list, know that they’re coming 🙂
Who was in your Spotify Top 5? Obviously Tay Tay was in mine but my #1 was Vitamin String Quartet. Thank you Bridgerton for that! VSQ was on the soundtrack and I became obsessed!
As all of your Amazon and Christmas orders start piling up on your doorstep, be sure to show some love to all of your delivery drivers and postal workers. Click here to see my easy way to show some extra love to all those working tirelessly this season to deliver our packages.
Have you started your holiday baking? I recently made these Boozy Chocolate Hazelnut Truffles and they are amazing!!! Click here for the recipe and 6 other Christmas cookie recipes!
The other day in the my Instagram stories, someone asked for a comfortable loungewear recommendation. I recently got this set and it is ridiculously cozy! It does run a bit larger so size down one unless you prefer a looser fit.
This week’s DIY was these super easy dried orange slice ornaments. I’ve been making dried oranges for Christmas decor for years. I love them in garlands, wreaths, as ornaments or to use to wrap presents. Sharing my DIY here!
I’m working on some fun holiday inspired cocktails for your holiday celebrations. I recently shared this recipe for my dairy free chocolate hazelnut liqueur. It tastes just like nutella. You can drink warm as a boozy hot chocolate, serve over ice for a chocolate hazelnut martini (that’s what my mom did and she said it was delish!) or add into your coffee.
Weekly meal planning will resume next year – putting on hold for now since I’m sharing all the holiday things!
Hope your week is fabulous friends!

Coming to you another Saturday morning from the ice rink –
That’s right. We were up at 6am shuffling the kids to hockey practice. They love it though. And I enjoy sitting here with my coffee wrapped up in a blanket watching them. I used to figure skate when I was younger and have so many memories of being at the ice rink on the weekends and then going home and warming up with some hot chocolate.
Speaking of warm beverages, my latest coffee obsession is frothing my Oatmeal Cookie Creamer and a dash of cinnamon into my morning cup of joe. It’s the best way to start your day. See how I make it here. (And if you don’t have a frother, it is a GAME CHANGER! Best $11 ever spent. Linking it here).
12 days until Thanksgiving and 41 until Christmas but who’s counting? Have you guys put up your tree yet? Last year our tree went up the day after Halloween. This year, I haven’t been as motivated. I’m trying to savor every moment rather than rush it. I think it’s easy this time of year to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, I’m guilty of it too. I’m trying to be more mindful and focus more on enjoying every experience and memory with the kids. They love this time of year and it’s so magical now as a parent.
This past week, I finally got up all of the gift guides on the blog. If you haven’t seen them yet, I’ve linked them below.

Gift Guide for Her
This week I also rolled out this year’s Community Giving Project. It was something that I started last year as a way to give back to one of the families in this online community. Honestly, I think sometimes social media can get a bad rap and this is a positive way that everyone can come together and do some good. This year I went through the nominations and chose a family whom I know personally and is local to the Albany area. You can read more about their story and if you feel called to contribute I know they would be forever grateful.
Next week I’ve got lots of yummy Thanksgiving recipes and turkey day ideas coming your way so stay tuned!
I hope you have a great weekend! Subscribers be sure to check your inbox tomorrow morning for this week’s meal plan!

Random thoughts on this chilly Saturday morning from the ice rink.
Yes that’s right. The boys started hockey this weekend. So you can find me on the ice rink every Saturday bundled in my blanket with a hot cup of coffee.
This week, I decided to get back to a more plant-based lifestyle. I originally went mostly plant-based last year and felt incredible! Not only did I lose weight, but I had more energy, slept better and my skin looked the best it ever has. You can read more about why I went plant based here. Follow along on my instagram, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite plant based dishes and trying some new ones too!
Ok these Leftover Halloween Candy Cookie Bars are NOT plant based lol. We had a bunch of candy leftover from Dude Man’s party and I had to get it out of the cabinets! So I made these Halloween candy cookie bars. Be sure to pin it for those days after Halloween when you have all that candy.
I took a day off this week to go through my closets and organize my life. We also rented a carpet cleaner from Home Depot earlier this week. Best $25 ever spent. We cleaned all our rugs, carpets, sofa, you name it. If you haven’t done it before and you have animals or kids, I recommend you do. I’ll spare you the photo of all the dirt and grime that came out but take it from me, it’s very satisfying.
If you missed my post yesterday, Tula dropped some new stuff for the holidays! (You can check out my favorites here). Use my code OURTINYNEST for 15%off your order and get free shipping when you place an order by Monday 10/25.
And ending this week’s nesting with a good ole meme from one of my favorites Simon Holland. Every Sunday night I share some Sunday Funnies on my Instagram to help kick those Sunday Scaries. Click here to follow me on Instagram if you don’t already.
Hope you have a great Saturday!

Random thoughts on this Saturday fall morning-
What a week! We celebrated Dude Man’s 5th birthday all week long! I made this double layered sprinkle cake and let me tell you, it was worth every bite of deliciousness. But all that partying has me tired. I’m ready to just kick back this weekend.
Season 3 of You is finally out on Netflix! And if you’re looking for more spooky themed shows/movies to watch, “Halloween Kills” is out on Peacock.
You know those flashy holiday yard inflatables? I always swore I would never get one and the kids wore me down. Meet “Ghosty”. (He’s linked in this week’s “5 Things I Bought Friday”). The kids are already asking what we’re gonna buy for Christmas.
Speaking of Christmas, people are already starting their holiday shopping and I’m just not ready yet. Maybe once we get through Halloween.
It was a busy week on the blog!
Hometalk featured my DIY whitewashed brick fireplace from a few years ago. This is the DIY that sparked our passion for DIYs. Whitewashing out fireplace was the very first project we ever did in our first home. After seeing how easy it was and the transformation, we soon set out on more DIY projects together.
Foodtalk featured my Apple Cinnamon French Toast Casserole recipe.
I shared a free printable reminder to put in your shower to remember to do your monthly self breast exams. Click here to get yours.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
