Ever since I became a mom, my life has become more chaotic. I’m constantly on the fly between work, errands and going out with my boys. Here are some of my best tips for moms on the go.
.) Wake up early – I get up early before everyone else, even on my days off. Some days I get my work out in, other days, I just have my coffee in peace. It’s my little slice of me time before the craziness ensues.
.) Prep the night before – Try to get as much done the night before as you can. Whether it’s packing lunches, laying out everyone’s clothes for the next day or doing some light cleaning. It’s one less thing you’ll have to do in the morning and cuts down on rushing around.
.) Dress comfortably – Dress in layers and comfortable footwear is a must! This has become especially important since I’ve been working as a nurse and spend over 12 hours on my feet. Recently I discovered Dr. Scholls’ Stylish Step inserts with CushionFlex technology. They offer insoles for any type of shoe from sneakers to flats to heels. Whether I’m at working helping mamas deliver babies, or out on the playground with my kids, my feet feel supported and relieved of pressure. You can buy them at DrScholls.com or at Target now.
.) Take advantage of grocery delivery or pickup – This is one of my favorite mom hacks. I order all of my groceries online and then pick up later in the day on our way home from wherever we are going. Not only does it free up some time, but you’re less likely to buy those things that you don’t need and aren’t on your list.
.) Learn to say no – This one takes a little bit of practice, especially if you’re a people pleaser or get fomo (fear of missing out). At first I used to feel guilty but now it’s actually quite empowering. Say no to those things that you just can’t commit to or simply won’t bring you joy. Be protective of your time.
